This is a meditation for mental clarity. Our meditation practice is not about controlling the mind, it is about understanding the tendencies of the mind. Through this practice we also come to understand the connection between our physical body, our energetic body, our mind and our breath. An imbalance in one creates a disturbance in another. When we sit to practice we work to harmonize each one, getting rid of any dissonance in the system, even if for just a short while. Overtime this is where our clarity comes from. Overtime we increase the capability of our mind to sift through the rapid waves of thoughts, identify what’s important, what we can let go of and become less reactive.

On this special episode of Into Stillness I have a guest meditation by my German brother David (@mindfuldave). David and I met on a yoga teacher training a couple years ago in Bali and have finally gotten around to collaborating on a meditation together. This is a wonderful gratitude meditation paired with some breath work and one very smooth German voice. I know you will enjoy this practice just as much as I did. Japa Meditation ”Om Sri Ramaya Namaha”

Happy new year everyone! Starting this new year strong on the Into Stillness podcast with my personal favourite japa practice. For this episode of the podcast we are working with the mantra “Om Sri Ramaya Namaha” for a japa style meditation. Om Sri Ramaya Namaha is a mantra that is used to honour Lord Rama, a god and incarnation of Vishnu. Lord Rama is known by devotees as the one who rejoices and brings joy, as well as peace and justice to the world. Chanting the mantra is said to engender in the yogi god consciousness and a connection to divine truths and blessings. Om Sri Ramaya Namaha can be translated and interpreted from the Sanskrit as, “Salutations to Rama, the bestower of happiness, inner peace and balance. May your warrior energy, inner focus and personal integrity reside within me.”

Sticking with the recent theme of nature styled meditations I have been creating. This episode features a sound based meditation focusing on the sounds of nature. It’s been proven that playing 'natural sounds' affects the bodily systems that control the flight-or-fright and rest-digest autonomic nervous systems, with associated effects in the resting activity of the brain. The sounds of nature are a pure and natural symphony unlike any other. I will be stepping away from the nature theme for the next few meditations so look forward to that!

I have always wanted to try out a guided meditation that leans more towards fantasy, my all time favourite genre when it comes to books. I came across the word “moonglade” a while back when scrolling the internet for inspiration, and it sparked an idea. I am very excited to have finally brought that idea to fruition and hope it comes across how I pictured it in my mind. I would love to know if you enjoyed this episode or not. I plan to do more in this fantastical style in the future and want to improve the imagery and delivery as best I can!

Finally back from a couple month break! The podcast will be back to its regular schedule or at least every 2 weeks. This meditation was inspired by an early morning adventure to watch the sunrise. I recommend trying it with a sunrise yourself or at least in a sunlit place. This meditation is a combination of breath awareness and guided imagery. I truly hope you enjoy it and look forward to the next episode.
I have been working on a new project for the last couple months. I can’t say what it is exactly just yet but it’s about 150 pages at the moment if you know what I mean…

On this episode of the podcast I have a body scan rooted in gratitude for all that it provides and allows us to experience. The miracle of the human body is often overlooked as we move through life and my aim with guided meditation is to illuminate that miracle. I personally find body scans to be one of the most relaxing and grounding forms of mindfulness meditation.
